FOOD NORTH MANUFACTURING HUB FEASIBILITY
FEASIBILITY STUDY
Ngawha Innovation Park
The Project
Ngawha Innovation Park (Far North Holdings) required a feasibility assessment to develop a business case to establish Northlands’s first shared food manufacturing facility. The proposed facility would address regional gaps in food processing infrastructure and enable local value-adding for growers and manufacturers currently forced to ship raw materials outside of Northland for processing.
Our Approach
Foodscope provided comprehensive process engineering expertise covering facility layout design, process throughput, equipment scale assessment, and estimation of facility service requirements for power, water, steam, air and other critical resources. We assessed equipment specifications and developed operational models for juicing, cooking, freeze drying, extraction, milling and packaging technologies to support potential manufacturers.
Results Achieved
Assisted in the development of a detailed facility specification enabling the project to proceed to funding review. Our process engineering input provided insight into the technical viability for the shared-use model and established equipment scale requirements for the various processes.
